Pokémon GO: Road to Sinnoh Event Breakdown

PokémonGO has just announced its latest event in preparation for the Sinnoh – Global Tour, the Road to Sinnoh event. The Sinnoh – Global Tour is set to begin on February 24th.

But before that, players have a chance to ready themselves for a new, exciting journey with the Road to Sinnoh event where you’ll find new Pokémon to catch, new 1-star, 3-star, and 5-star raids, timed research, exclusive avatar items, and more. 

The Road to Sinnoh event is scheduled to start on February 19th and will be available through to February 23rd, just before the Sinnoh – Global Tour commences.

Now, let’s go over the new Road to Sinnoh event and what it has in store:

Time-Limited Paid Tickets

With the Road to Sinnoh event, you can purchase two Paid Tickets. Both cost $5 each (or regional equivalent) and get you access to exclusive Sinnoh-themed Timed Research and items:

Road to Sinnoh: Raids

This Paid Ticket focuses on rewards for completing raid-related content. Timed Research rewards for the Raids ticket include – 

  • 10x Dialga & Palkia Candy
  • 5x Heatran, Giratina, Cresselia, Darkrai Candy XL
  • Eevee Fan Mask
  • Bonus 5000XP for completing Raids
  • +1 Candy for catching Pokemon in Raids
  • +2 Daily Raid Passes for spinning Photo Discs at Gyms 

Road to Sinnoh: Hatch

Alongside exclusive Timed Research, purchasing this Paid Ticket rewards you for hatching Eggs. Purchasing this ticket gets you encounters with new Pokémon including:

  • Chatot
  • Carnivine
  • Pachirisu

Each Pokémon also has a chance of spawning a Shiny version.

You’ll also get these additional rewards:

  • Pikachu Fan Mask

Both Paid Tickets are timed exclusives, and both Timed Research goals and rewards have to be completed and redeemed before February 25th.

New Pokémon Wild Encounters

In anticipation of the new Sinnoh region Pokémon and content, players will have access to the Sinnoh starter Pokémon. You can encounter the three starter Pokémon in the wild:

  • Pipulp
  • Chimchar
  • Turtwig

You also have a chance of encountering the second evolution forms of the starting Pokémon – 

  • Prinpulp
  • Monferno
  • Grotle

For the three starter Pokémon Pipulp, Chimchar, and Turtwig, you have a chance of finding the elusive Shiny version.

Hatchable Eggs

With the new Sinnoh region Pokémon coming to Pokémon GO, there are a few new Pokémon you can hatch from 2km Eggs. Each egg has a chance of spawning a Shiny version. The new hatchable Pokémon include:

  • Happiny

There are 7 new Raids available during the Road to Sinnoh event. All 1-star and 5-star Raids have a chance of encountering Shiny versions.

Additional Bonuses

  • Halved Egg Hatch Distance for Eggs in Incubators
  • Remote Raid Pass Limit Increased to 10 (Feb 19 – Feb 22)
  • No Limits on Remote Raids (Feb 23 – Feb 25)
